Virginia's House of Hope is proud to announce the first annual
Charity Polo Match Fundraiser hosted by the Greenwich Polo Club
on Sunday, July 14th 2013!


Join Us For the Event of the Summer!

Grab your friends and get your table before seats run out for an afternoon of competition, catering and cocktails! Featuring a signature and delicious drink- the Greenwich Girl Peach Sangria. Entertainment will also include a live band and auction! We look forward to seeing you there!

Auction Items: Sneak Peek

1. We are auctioning off a 4 and a 5 night stay for two in the Ezulwini Game Lodges. Each package includes two safari game drives each day and all meals! Individual thatched-roof bungalows feature air conditioning, refrigerator and en suite bathrooms. (Airfare and transfers are not included)

2.  A 3 day yacht charter in Spain for on the Tatiana, a luxury yacht that sleeps 12.

Directions to Event:

From The Merritt Parkway
Take the Merritt Parkway to Exit 31 North Street. At the end of the exit ramp, follow the sign “To Banksville, NY”. Continue for approximately 2.8 miles on North Street. Turn left onto Hurlingham Drive at Conyers Farm. Security will direct you from there.

From Interstate 95
Take the I-95 to Exit 3 Greenwich CT. At the light, take Arch Street heading north. Turn left onto Sound View Drive. Go up the hill and turn right onto Field Point Road. Proceed to the intersection with Putnam Avenue and go straight through onto Dearfield Drive. Continue north around the rotary onto Lake Avenue. Continue north 1.5 miles and turn right onto Grahampton Lane. Continue east 1/2 mile and turn left onto North Street. Continue for approximately 2 miles on North Street. Turn left onto Hurlingham Drive at Conyers Farm. Security will direct you from there.


Greenwich is just a 45 minute drive from Manhattan! Exit 31 off the Merritt parkway. Free parking will be available at the grounds.

Trains will be available from Grand Central Station to the Greenwich Station at the times listed below:

11:10 AM – 12:01 PM
11:37 AM – 12:28 PM
12:10 PM – 1:01 PM

Cabs are available at the Greenwich Train Station for transportation to the Polo Match.

Polo Benefit FAQ

1. What should I bring with me?
The hot July sun will not be forgiving so to best enjoy the beautiful weather, pack some SPF! You might also want to wear comfortable shoes (Ladies, wedges or sandals are polo-perfect!) Other items you may want to consider bringing are:
Camera
Sunglasses
ID’s
Sunhats (practical and fashionable at the same time!)
 
2. Are children allowed?
Yes, children are allowed and welcome! Please keep in mind that alcohol will be served at this event and will be served only to those 21+.

3. Will I be able to purchase my ticket at the event?
Yes. We will have a check in table, where cash, credit, and check are all accepted. We do suggest, however, that you buy your tickets in advance to ensure a spot before the event sells out.

4. Will there be parking at the event?
Free parking is available at the event.

5. How can I make a donation to the live or silent auction?
How generous of you to ask! All donations may be sent to our mailing address (P.O. Box 5096, New York City, New York, 10185-9806). Any donation made to the event is 100% tax deductible, and we will mention you in our event program, to show our appreciation. For more information you may contact outreach@virginiashouseofhope.org

6. Can I bring outside food and beverage to the event ground?
There will be (very yummy) food and drinks served at the event. You may also bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages if you prefer.
 
7. How do I get to the Polo Club by public transportation?
Couldn’t be easier! If you are coming from NYC, there are trains available from Grand Central to the Greenwich Station at the following times:

Established in 1981, the Greenwich Polo Club is the venue for high-goal polo in the Northeast. Nestled in the beautiful backcountry of Greenwich Connecticut and internationally recognized for its rosters of legendary teams and players, Greenwich Polo Club hosts public USPA high-goal polo matches on Sundays in June, July and September

Virginia's House of Hope has a 501(c)(3) non profit status with the IRS. Our organization is made up of an all-volunteer staff committed to improving the quality of life for all New Yorkers. We come from a diverse set of professional and personal backgrounds, united in intention to support the mission of Virginia’s House of Hope.
