VIRGINIA'S HOUSE OF HOPE
The mission of Virginia's House of Hope is to improve the quality of life for children and families. We accomplish this by helping disadvantaged families throughout New York City and the surrounding regions.
Fully one hundred percent of event proceeds will go to the Virginia's House of Hope Tugboat Program. With the support of our friends in the Maritime industry, Virginia’s House of Hope was able to create the Tugboat Program, a program created which condenses the equivalent of a practical hands-on course of study into a rigorous 3-week syllabus. It is fully subsidized by VHH. Upon graduation, each student is equipped and certified to work as a tugboat deckhand, with the possibility, one day of becoming a tugboat officer. Virginia’s House of Hope arranges for every student to obtain an employment opportunity. The cost to Virginia’s House of Hope per student is approximately $7,000. The outcome, however, is immeasurable.
